< redPear Announces Summer 2009 Launch of Core Relationship Manager >
Posted April 14, 2009 by bwilleyTempe-based web development company announces launch of human-centric software that
integrates custom profiles, record sharing among business networks, and Social Media integration
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (April 13, 2009, Tempe, AZ) – redPear, a Tempe-based web development company, announced today its revolutionary Relationship Manager, Core, will be launched in the Summer of 2009. Core has been designed as the solution to “bottom-line” oriented CRMs that have proven problematic and ineffective for today’s relationship-driven business. “We were inspired to develop Core because we’ve realized the growing unrest among business professionals that recognize that we, as humans, are more than just our contact and business information, and that we have a growing hunger for a collaborative business tool that improves our working relationships. With that, some key features of Core include social media integration, a comprehensive rules and task engine, email and letter templates, and the collaborative Core Network, which allow for a holistic snapshot of an individual or organization, and more authentic, relationship-based business dealings,” said Brandon Willey, Founder and CEO of redPear, the company behind Core.
Core accounts are web-based, and owned by businesses and individuals, who are then able to share specified records and create networks for business collaboration through a system of gateways- a benefit to businesses with a need for internal project communications, today’s booming transient and freelance professionals and companies who work with them. When a job is completed, or an individual leaves a business, the gateway is closed and records are no longer shared.
Core’s database has been designed to interface with Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter (with more Social Media integration to be introduced this summer), capturing not only individual contact information, but his or her public online profile information, and allows for the addition of multiple tags to assist with searches and to refresh the user on a person’s interests. This results in a comprehensive overview of that individual, rather than just serving up contact and transactional information as with conventional CRMs. Industry-specific, plug-in modules are also in development to enhance usability. Modules aimed at Realtors, Loan Officers, and Escrow Officers will be rolled out first, with others for dispatching, distribution, health care and the ability for companies to develop their own modules coming in Fall 2009.
Core’s Rules Engine allows users to create customizable drop-down menus that allow for automatic task generation, based on an individual or company’s unique needs. Core may also be used to track referrals, manage projects by viewing progress, share files with others in the Core Network, and send mass and individual email communications. Printable form letters and mailing labels are saved in a template system, and email communications are saved in the Conversation stream for organized correspondence. The Activity Stream allows for quick reference to current tasks, birthdays, anniversaries and other information, which appears on the dashboard at all times.
Core is set to be introduced at three price points, based on user need. Core Starter, designed for individuals, is free. Starter will include all functionality of the software, but includes introductory library file storage and limited Work records. Core Pro, offered at $24.95 per month, has no space or record keeping limitations. Core Corporate is offered at $29.95 per gateway. Corporate Accounts will have their own database which will be shared through these gateways to other Core users on a permission basis. For more information about Core, visit www.coreisgood.com.

< Too busy NOT to post >
Posted April 13, 2009 by KrystoferWow, you put your head down to do some work and a month goes by!
We’re in an exciting season here at redPear. We’re doing more client site work than ever, we’re mere days from shipping Core v.1.0 (our killer new relationship manager - we’re so excited about it!), and we’re getting ready to launch a third branch of redPear that is very close to our hearts.
The rest of April will continue to be busy, with the actual Core release, ARMLS Technopalooza, REBarCamp Phoenix, the Celebrate Your Business conference, networking meetings, new clients and more.
We wouldn’t have it any other way.
In the midst of all the madness, we got an update on how the funds raised from the Twestival (the charity event organized on Twitter that we were a part of in February) are impacting real humans around the world.
It started with a 140-character tweet on January 8. And a few hours ago, in a remote Ethiopian village, hundreds cheered as clean water shot from the ground.
“Without water, there is no life.”
“You have brought life into this community.”
You can read the full email here.
We’re proud to be a part of the Phoenix (and global) Twitter community, follow us! @redPear
We love what we do, and our clients are up to some amazing things. The more people we meet in Phoenix, the more we’re convinced that it’s quietly becoming a center for innovation and creativity, and we’re glad to be one slice of it.

< Air Hockey Throwdown 001 >
Posted March 05, 2009 by KrystoferYou may or may not be aware of this, but Phoenix is actually quite the rocking town for creative firms and web developers. Case in point - Integrum, a local Rails developer working out of Gangplank HQ (a cool warehouse style open creative workspace). Gangplank/Integrum recently got an air hockey table, and (with perhaps a small amount of jealousy) we started harassing them.
With the birth of his second daughter, our project coordinator decided to move his baby grand piano to redPear (thusly).
Of course, instead of explaining this reasoning, we merely acted like it was our “proportional response” to the air hockey table.
It was on.
Integrum promptly threw down the gauntlet for the inaugural Air Hockey Throwdown, and redPear answered the call. Get their account of what went down by clicking in this direction.
-SPOILER ALERT-
we got rolled.
pretty badly.
But we had a great time hanging out with some cool, gifted developers and didn’t get completely shut out (thank Jeremy for that). We look forward to watching the next Throwdown from the comfort and relative safety of the stands…
but watch out, Integrum…
can you say…
DANCEOFF?!?!?!?!?!

< THE week >
Posted January 07, 2009 by KrystoferWow!
This is quite the week for the whole redPear team.
On Monday our friends (and clients) at Fiesta Bowl hosted a great game, and FiestaBowl.org served up over 2 MILLION pageviews on Monday alone!!
(thanks Mosso!)
The rest of our week has been dedicated largely to redPear|Core, our latest web-based software offering. We’re hosting a launch party this Friday… you should probably drop whatever you were planning on doing and come by!
Meanwhile, the new year is bringing new opportunities and new projects, new friends, and (coming soon) some new team members!
That’s a lot of NEW around here - stay tuned.

< One more reason to hate GoDaddy >
Posted December 18, 2008 by bwilley
As if their poor customer service, poor taste, poor site development, laughable Website Tonight service, and unstable shared hosting packages weren’t enough to dissuade us from recommending their service to our clients, this article (TechCrunch) has reminded me once again that GoDaddy is truly the company that I always thought they were.
One more reason that we use Mosso’s Cloud Hosting Platform. And love it.

< Common Craft >
Posted December 18, 2008 by bwilleyI just recently (really recently, like just 10 minutes ago recently) came across a website that uses drawings on paper and clear narration to explain things in plain English. It’s called Common Craft (thanks Brainfuel for the tip) and looks like it could be a great educational resource.
Remember the entire Dummies empire that exploded after DOS for Dummies and Windows for Dummies? Well, this site follows exactly the same concept, except the lessons are on video, and only a few minutes long, and they’re narrated, and they’re illustrated, and they’re cool. I’ve posted their explanation of Twitter and Zombies below, but be sure to check out Common Craft for yourself.

< Partner Spotlight >
Posted December 12, 2008 by KrystoferWe’re working on a variety of projects right now - large and small, developing, implementing and maintaining…
We’re definitely keeping busy.
I just wanted to take a minute to share one ongoing project with which we are particularly glad to partner.
Some movements fly under the radar without much support, but this is an organization we just could not ignore, and are proud to sponsor.
click and behold
enjoy!
