Software Engineer (Ruby)

What you’ll be doing:

We’re looking for a software engineer who can create usable and robust software. You’ll work with an agile team that builds web applications on multiple platforms including Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, and Heroku.

• Develop and architect web applications using Ruby on Rails

Requirements

• Can write solid code
• Are pragmatic, flexible, and self-motivated
• Care deeply about users and the user experience
• Take pride in the craft of software engineering
• Experience shipping software
• Excellent communication skills
• Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming
• Knowledge of HTTP and RESTful practices
• Knowledge of Ruby and PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript

Bonus

• Practices agile software development
• Experience with software Q/A testing (Cucumber and Selenium)
• Knowledge of Linux and UNIX
• Experience with NoSQL technologies
• Experience with e-commerce technologies (Authorize.net, PayPal, Google Checkout)
• A commanding knowledge of quotes from movies and Arrested development

Software Engineer (PHP)

What you’ll be doing:

We’re looking for a software engineer who can create usable and robust software. You’ll work with an agile team that builds web applications running on Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

• Develop and build web applications using LAMP technologies

• Are pragmatic, flexible, and self-motivated
• Care deeply about users and the user experience
• Take pride in the craft of software engineering
• Experience shipping software
• Excellent communication skills
• Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming
• Knowledge of HTTP and RESTful practices
• Knowledge of PHP5 and MySQL
• Knowledge of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of PEAR libraries

Bonus

• Practices agile software development
• Experience with software Q/A testing (Cucumber and Watir)
• Knowledge of Linux and UNIX
• Knowledge of Apache
• Developing with PEAR packages
• Experience with ecommerce technologies (Authorize.net, PayPal, Google Checkout)
• WordPress
• Expression Engine
